The Decision Guide integrates Eco-Logical into transportation decision making. Eco-Logical is an ecosystem approach to integrating transportation and land use decision making with the natural environment. It has been endorsed by FHWA and all of the federal resource agencies that have a role in transportation decision making. This federally endorsed approach to integrated planning supports the linkage of planning decisions to NEPA/permitting and enhances compliance with regulatory requirements in the Environmental Review/Permitting process.
A benefit of integrating the analysis of the natural environment with transportation decision making is the sharing of information and the coordination of decision-making between these processes. This occurs at multiple key decisions in long range planning, corridor planning, and environmental review. The Decision Guide provides detailed information on the individual key decisions at which these processes are integrated, under the tab labeled "Integration."
Coming Soon: The Decision Guide will be accessible through this page and will provide information about which key decisions are integrated with natural environment planning. Please visit TCAPP's information for Resource Specialists to access this information now.
